Clean Dirt and Debris from Charging Port

Before jumping into complicated solutions, you should first try simple methods, as the problem with your charging port may be something as small as having dirt or debris embedded on the inside. The process below is very simple to carry out and only requires a few moments of your time. In order to get started and properly clean out your charging port, follow the easy instructions below.

1. Using a flashlight look inside your charging port for dirt, debris, or anything else that may have gotten lodged in.

2. Use a new and unused toothbrush or cue tip, in order to brush away any visible debris. Note: Please avoid using a toothpick or paper clip to do this, as you may end up causing damage to your charging port.

3. After you've removed the debris, simply charge your phone as you normally would.

If your phone is now charging normally, then there's no need to carry out the method below. If your phone still isn't charging then this means dirt or debris weren't causing the problem. Follow the method below, in order to charge your phone with a broken charging port.

Charge Battery Directly Through +/- Terminals

Before you begin learning how to charge your phone when the charging port is broken, there's a warning you need to keep in mind. The method below requires extreme caution. You must pay attention to how long you charge and battery, and to the temperature of the battery. If the battery begins to feel too hot, unplug your charger right away. If you overcharge a lithium-ion battery, you increase the risk of fire or explosion. Though such things don't happen often, you must still be careful. It's best to use this method in the short term, when you need to have a charged phone, for emergency purposes.

As stated in the heading this method involves charging your phone's battery using the positive and negative terminals. While this may sound complicated, it's not that difficult to carry out. However, as stated above this is more so a temporary solution, as it's not convenient to carry out. Items Needed

Any charging cables. Micro-USB/Type-C USB and iPhone's lightning cable will all work.
A wall chagrining socket with a USB port or a PC/laptop, or any other device with a USB port.
Wire splitting pliers.
The capability to remove your smartphones battery. A few smartphones with factory-sealed batteries don't allow this.
Electrical tape.

Once you have these items ready, you're now ready to charge your phone. Follow the instructions below.

1. Carefully splice your charging cable by first removing the rubber casing, in order to expose the colored wires.

2. Expose the copper strands in the colored wires by using wire splitting pliers.

3. Twist the copper strands together and fold each wire onto itself in order to mold a ball shape at the tip of the wire.

4. Expose your phones battery.

5. Clamp the charging knots you made onto your battery's terminal. Connect positive to positive, and negative to negative. Ideally, you want to position the knots towards the bottom half of the metal connectors on your phone.

6. Plug the opposite end of the charging cable into your wall charging unit, laptop, other USB charging device.

Feel free to use duct tape in order to clamp the knots in place. This method will work faster than your conventional charging method, however, this method should only be carried out in emergency situations. IT's not recommended to constantly use this method in order to charge your phone. There are many risks involved in this method. You need to exercise caution and ensure that you connect the positive wire to the positive terminal, and the negative wire to the negative terminal. IF you hook up the wires backwards, you could end up damaging your battery and causing many other problems, that could've been avoided.
